Deerskin Washing Instructions
There was an Industry wide change on dye, which can now cause dye to
“bleed”. The Teflon was taken out of the Dye.
You need to wash new breeches separately for 5 washing.
- When washing breeches use only Leather Therapy leather washing solution: using smooth leather directions. It is found in most tack stores or their toll free number is: 800 711-8225. WASH BREECH SEPERATLY 5 TIMES.
- Remove from washer PROMPTLY – so wet leather does not lie on fabric.
- Once you do wash breeches together again – For Swiss fabrics, only dark colors with dark colors
- For cottons always wash separate – a new cotton leather seat can bleed off to the older cotton fabric.
- DO NOT USE OXI-CLEAN - it will eat the leather * NEVER USE BLEACH * NEVER USE HOT WATER
- DO NOT DRY IN DRYER
- If you get caught in a rainstorm and get leather REALLY wet – put towel under you to protect car seat or any light colored cloth you sit on.
The corduroy fabric will not bleed and you will get close to the same grip with it. ( 1\2 to 3\4 the grip of leather) but no worry washing. So you do have options if you don’t want to take such care with washing your leather.
